This movie has changed my life...

I can't stop thinking about it... and I haven't even SEEN IT! DO YOU KNOW HOW POWERFUL A MOVIE LIKE THAT IS!

Everytime I look at someone different than me... I keep thinking... "What could I do to make our differences not be at odds with oneanother?" I also think: "Why is that different person than me not a cat person... I want there to be more cat people in real life."

My message to the Academy: Nominate this movie again and again and again. I think it should win every major award, the groundbreaking award, and the best use of 3-d glasses award.

Also, Academy, if you could send me a copy of it on DVD I'd appreciate it... I really would rather not pay $20 dollars to see it.

The art director should be applauded

When you watch Avatar, you are transported to another world... all because of the art director. And for me, looking at the still frames on the internet is just blowing my mind. Look at some of these:

THEY ARE JUST JUMPING OFF THE WEBSITE!
Whoa! HAve you seen this revolutionary take on the color blue?
Acting. This is some serious acting.

I can't heap enough praise on this movie I've never seen. Every day I hit myself a little for deciding to go see Invictus instead... but then I feel pretty okay about it.

The Story

Well, first and foremost I'd like to applaud the plot of Avatar... a moving story of a race of... well... from what I can gather from the previews they seem to be some sort of cat people. A moving story of a race of cat people. It's a terrific allegory. A story warning us of the dangers of destroying nature and modernizing things... and of taking over other cultures. That, I'm pretty sure, is just awful to do.

This teaches us a valuable lesson, really a very important lesson that we should never forget. And that lesson is do not take over the native american's land 150 years ago.

And then when the female cat person says... well... says "AVATAR..." in a really deep voice. That was when we truly know as a people that we shouldn't take these creatures land. According to my research on Twitter I'm also pretty sure that there's an affair between John Smith and Pocahontas... but really, just totally moving... completely compelling... you can feel the cat people.

A revolution has hit the theatres

It's no joke! The movie has been number 1 at the box office for the last 4 weeks... just killing it all over the country. People have been lining up to see the stunning visuals, the terrific story arch, James Cameron's amazing three-d take on the movie. Reviewers keep telling me, "You have to see this movie," or that "this movie will change the way movies are made."

This blog has been created to truly honor that piece of film magic... to give Avatar it's dues as being one of the greatest movies of our time.

That being said, I haven't seen it... and I'm probably not going to... it sounds pretty cool but I've been real busy these days, you know?

But boy, the things I've HEARD! OFF THE CHARTS!
